Worth the fall?

My daily AI newsletter had a line that stopped me today: "The next thing is always around the corner." It was about AI tools, and how chasing them traps you.

I have fallen into that trap more than once. When I started learning AI, I spent whole evenings on GitHub, digging through repos. Still remember the first one: Notion vs. Obsidian. I had long discussions with Claude on which one to use. I even collected system setups I never used.

Then I decided to try both. Within days it was obvious: Obsidian. One tool, local files, done.

But that clarity only came afterwards. It always does. The price was those countless 2am nights.

And it is happening again, right now. Ollama, LM Studio, Qwen, Hermes, Antigravity, T3 and all other tools people are talking about. I am standing at the edge of the next rabbit hole, looking inside, genuinely curious, and genuinely not sure whether stepping in means learning or just falling.

So here is what I can't settle. Exploration has a cost, and the cost seems necessary. Curiosity is the engine of everything I am building. But curiosity is also exactly what pulled me into the rabbit hole I wrote about in my last post.

Worth the fall? Well, I don't have the answer...yet.
