Note
Stingy fingers
A week without a voice.
I lost my voice a week ago. Nothing serious. It is just gone.
What I did not expect was losing my way of writing with it. Every note on this site started as talking. Often it happens during a walk. I ramble into my phone, the mess comes out first and the shape comes later. The AI gets the whole mess.
But typing is different. All of a sudden my fingers become "stingy". I write a sentence, delete half of it, and hand over a prompt with minimal context in it. The ideas that need a run-up never get one.
Strange, because I have typed since I was sixteen or so. Blogger, journalist, then marketer, always at a keyboard. It worked like an extension of my thoughts. Somewhere in the last few months that muscle went quiet, and I did not notice until this week.
Without the talking, the thinking thins out too. The way I type is nowhere near the way I talk. There is no walk to the coffee shop where the sentence arrives on its own.
This one is typed. You can probably tell.
